Our Year 13 programs give young people with additional learning or support needs more time to build practical skills, explore their interests and prepare for the next stage of adult life.
Our Year 13 programs bring together everyday life skills, work preparation and future planning, helping students build knowledge they can put into practice beyond the classroom. Through structured learning, hands-on activities and real-world experiences, students can develop greater confidence in the skills they will use at home, at work and in the community.
Build confidence and practical skills for work, from communication and workplace expectations to job preparation and real-world experience.
Develop practical everyday skills that support greater independence, confidence and participation at home and in the community.
Build the knowledge, confidence and social skills needed to form healthy friendships, understand relationships and connect with others safely.
Some skills are introduced in a structured learning environment. Others make more sense when students have the opportunity to try them for themselves.
Our Year 13 programs combine both, giving students opportunities to build understanding, practise new skills and apply what they have learned in everyday settings.
Structured lessons help students understand new concepts, practise skills and build knowledge at a pace that suits their learning needs.
Students can take learning into the community, helping them practise skills such as communication, travel, money management and decision-making.
Workplace experiences help students understand different roles, routines and expectations while developing greater confidence in professional environments.
Practical projects give students opportunities to plan, problem solve, work with others and see their learning take shape in a meaningful way.
A week at Post School Pathways can include a mix of structured learning, practical activities, community experiences and future planning, depending on the program selected and the student’s individual goals.
Example only. Weekly activities vary depending on the program selected, individual goals and available opportunities.
Every student comes to Year 13 with different strengths, interests, experiences and ideas about what they want their future to look like.
Learning is adapted so students can work towards goals that are meaningful to them, with opportunities to build on what they already do well and develop skills in areas where they need more experience.
Learning can be shaped around the skills and outcomes that matter most to each student.
Students learn alongside others in an environment designed to encourage participation, communication and connection.
Students are encouraged to recognise their abilities and build confidence from what they already do well.
Skills are introduced, practised and applied over time so students can gradually take on more responsibility.
Our Year 13 programs are designed for young people with additional learning or support needs who are finishing school or have recently finished and would benefit from more time to prepare for adult life.
It may be a good fit for a young person who wants to:
Post School Pathways operates as a privately funded suite of Year 13 programs. The programs are not delivered through NDIS funding, giving families direct access to structured post-school learning focused on practical skills, employment, independence, relationships and adult life.
If Year 13 sounds like the right next step for your young person, we’d love to learn more about their interests, goals and what they hope to achieve after school.
